The Lahore High Court has paused the distribution of electric bikes to students in Punjab until Monday. The court needs more information about the project before it can proceed.
This decision was made during a case focused on reducing air pollution in Punjab. The court is waiting for the Punjab government to provide a detailed report on how many bikes are being distributed and in which cities.

Justice Shahid Karim expressed concerns that students might misuse the electric bikes, such as performing dangerous stunts. He also worried that male students could use the bikes to gather outside girls’ schools. Instead of bikes, he suggested that schools should have electric buses to ensure safer and more sustainable transportation for students.
Additionally, the court was informed that there has been a decrease in chicken supply at the Tollinton Market in Lahore due to previous court orders. This is part of ongoing efforts to address various local issues.
