UPDATE: OG Anunoby won’t play for the rest of the game.
Tonight the New York Knicks are facing the Indiana Pacers at Madison Square Garden. It’s the second game of their playoff series.
In the second half, OG Anunoby a key player for the Knicks had to leave the game because of an injury.
Before getting hurt Anunoby scored 28 points and helped his team with four rebounds, three assists and one block. He made 10 out of 19 shots including four three-pointers.
According to Ian Begley from SNY: “OG Anunoby is going back to the locker room. It looks like his left hamstring is hurt. He has 28 points so far in Game 2.”
Anunoby joined the Knicks this season from the Toronto Raptors.
During the regular season, he played 50 games and averaged 14.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.4 steals per game. He made about 49% of his shots and 38% of his three-point tries.
The Knicks with a season record of 50 wins and 32 losses are the number two team in the Eastern Conference.
They are in the NBA playoffs for the second year in a row. They won their first-round playoff series against the Philadelphia 76ers in six games.
The Pacers, their opponents are the sixth-ranked team with 47 wins and 35 losses this season.
They defeated the Milwaukee Bucks in their first playoff series in six games.
The third game of this series is scheduled for Friday evening in Indiana.
The winner of this series will go on to the Eastern Conference Finals to play against either the Cavaliers or the Celtics.
