Ukraine Stops a Dangerous Plan
On Tuesday Ukraine’s security team said they stopped a plan to kill their President,Volodymyr Zelensky. They also arrested two colonels from Ukraine. They think these colonels were working for Russia.
Who Was Involved?
The security group in Ukraine shared that the plan had people working for Russia. These included the two arrested colonels. Their job was to find ways to capture and then kill President Zelensky.
Other Targets
The plan also aimed to harm other Ukrainian leaders. This included the head of Ukraine’s security and the head of Ukraine’s military intelligence.
What We Know About the Plan
The plan was to block President Zelensky as he moved in and out of buildings. There was also a planned attack on a military leader using rockets and drones. Weapons and drones were given to one of the arrested colonels to help with the attack.
Past Attacks
This is not the first time Ukraine has found out about plans to hurt its leaders. President Zelensky once said he knew of more than 10 such plans.

Russia has not yet responded to these latest accusations.
Ongoing Danger
This event is part of many attacks on Ukrainian leaders. Last year a Ukrainian general’s wife was poisoned. Ukraine also thinks Russia was behind that.
Earlier Incidents
Last month, Ukraine caught someone from Poland who was trying to help Russia with a plan to kill President Zelensky. Ukraine has also been linked to actions against Russian supporters in Russia.
