A new report has found that the use of artificial intelligence (AI) at work has almost doubled in the last six months. Now about 75% of workers around the world use AI tools in their jobs.
This information comes from the 2024 Work Trend Index Annual Report by Microsoft and LinkedIn. It focuses on knowledge workers those who typically work at desks whether in offices or at home.
According to the report workers are increasingly depending on AI tools to manage their busy workloads. However while business leaders recognize the importance of AI many admit they don’t have a clear plan to use it effectively.
The survey included in the report shows that most AI users find it beneficial. It helps them save time, focus on important tasks, boosts their creativity and makes work more enjoyable.
Despite the benefits, some workers are worried about AI replacing their jobs. Nearly half are concerned about this possibility and some are even considering leaving their jobs for better opportunities.
The demand for AI skills is also growing among employers. Two-thirds of them say they would not hire someone without AI skills. They often prefer hiring less experienced people who are skilled in AI over those who are more experienced but lack AI skills.
Overall the report suggests that AI is helping people become more creative and productive. It also gives job seekers an advantage and is set to transform work in many ways.
